English Reflection
The differences you saw between Macbeth the movie, and reading the actual text. What was easier, and what was more difficult? Explain why. When we watched Macbeth the movie, I soon realized that there were a few differences from what was present in the text. I noticed that they chose a feminine actress for Lady Macbeth. I found that really cool that they’d choose to make her dainty and beautiful, considering her portrayal in the book is extremely masculine. I think this really emphasizes the power struggle between both genders. It was easier to see the film rather than read the text because visuals help to speed the process of understanding up quite a bit. It brings the text to life, which inspires a different form of thinking, for me personally. It was difficult when solely reading the text because I didn’t have a visual to accompany some of the language, which was extremely difficult to understand at some points in the various scenes. It was a great deal easier to see some of the facial expressions and actions to accompany the language. It made the understanding bit so much easier for me.
